LAREDO, TX (KGNS) -
After closing its doors in June 2012 for a major makeover, the Kazen Student Center at Laredo Community College’s Fort McIntosh Campus will formally reopen during a special ceremony on Friday, March 21 at 10 a.m.
Students, faculty, staff and the community are invited to attend the ceremony, which will include messages from LCC President Dr. Juan L. Maldonado, and guest speaker Abraham “Chick” Kazen III, son of the late Abraham “Chick” Kazen Jr., for whom the facility is named.
The event also will feature music from Mariachi Palomino, and refreshments will be served. After the ceremony, visitors are invited to explore the student center.
The Kazen center, which first opened its doors in 1974, has been the hub of student life at the Fort McIntosh Campus for countless generations of Palominos who have gathered within it to study, dine, socialize and relax.
