LAREDO, TEXAS (KGNS) - The Laredo Police Department and Laredo ISD wants to remind the public that school is just around the corner.

Safety is top priority for students heading back to school and is why the two joined forces to get the word out.

On Monday, both the police and the district filmed scenarios on what to expect when school starts.

Topics like texting and driving, looking out for students on the roadways and following the posted speed limit.

Officer Abraham Diaz says the message behind these PSA's is safety.

The district puts out these PSA's every school year in hopes to prevent accidents from happening, so children stay safe and motorist are aware that schools back in session.

The busiest times for schools zones are between 7:30 AM to 8:15 AM and 3 PM to 3:45 PM. The first day of school is August 25th.
