LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - Spring Break is here, and if your child is searching for things to do this week, the solution might be closer than you think.

The Laredo Public Library is once again hosting a number of activities for Monday through Friday of this week. Each day has two activities to participate in, and it all leads up to a St. Patrick's Day party Friday, where everything will be green!

"This is the very first day," said Children's Librarian Christine Deffendall. "We have an excellent attendance considering the weather. We even got a group that came to see us for the day in addition to just individual families, so that's a lot of fun."

Some of the activities include pasta crafts, bracelet making, and story time, which will have shamrock crafts as a special addition.

"This has been going on for a number of years," said Deffendall. "It predates my tenure here, I've only been here since September. My understanding is it's been going on a long time. Every Spring Break."

The Library is asking all children to be accompanied by adults, instead of dropping them off. For more information, you can contact the Library at 956-795-2400, ext. 2247.
