With the last campaign, they collected more than 30 tons of trash and almost 200 used tires.

The city is now doing a campaign for citizens of District IV.

LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - If you have old chairs, wood or tires in your yard. It's time to get rid of them. It's part of the operation clean-up campaign put on by the city. This time, their focus is on district four. Inspectors from various city departments went door to door to speak to each resident about potential code violations they have.

People were given verbal warnings instead of tickets. They are asking each resident to clean up the debris in their yard and place it by the curb. The solid waste department will then come by on Wednesday to pick it up. Residents in the area like the idea the city is coming to them to pick up the unwanted items.

"It's good. It's good for us, because most of the people down here are getting to a senior age and they are not able to get rid of all the stuff. So if somebody can help them out and put it on the sidewalk, it will be great for some of us that are senior citizens."

No oil or paint will be picked up by the city. If you live in district four and want your trash removed, place it by the curb by 7 a.m. on Wednesday. When the city held operation clean up in district three, more than 30 tons of debris was collected.
