LAREDO, TEXAS (KGNS) -- All across our nation, people gathered together to remember those veterans who served our country and lost their lives.

In Laredo, veterans organizations as well as veterans and family members got together to honor those local veterans who have died, to honor our fallen soldiers.

That's what hundreds of people did Memorial Day morning at the Veterans Cemetery.

Many veterans, and family members came out to remember their loved ones who have fallen.

Veterans took turns reading the names of local veterans who have passed away.

Veteran John Barton pays tribute to his uncle, who lost his life in war.

The cemetery is where about 2,000 veterans are buried; each grave with an American flag for their sacrifice.
