LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - It's the day many Laredoans have been waiting for....the 6th Annual Kite Festival!
The event is free and open to the public. There will be games, a petting zoo, carnival rides, free food, music, and a car show. No alcohol will be allowed and and law enforcement will be at the site.
If you're planning to head out, parking is limited because thousands of Laredoans are expected to show up at the event.
"Thanks to our sponsors, we were able to make this event free for the community so they can come and enjoy this during Spring Break," said Xochitl Mora of the City of Laredo. "So many families can't get away and take those nice vacations, and so there's something to do. Plenty to do here in Laredo in this beautiful park. Come and fly a kite with the family!"

Additionally, El Metro has partnered with Wal-Mart on the Loop and International to offer a free park and ride option to the Kite Festival.
