A new program allows high school students to call for a safe ride home following the prom.

Webb County Sheriff Martin Cuellar held a press conference to announce a program designed to deep students safe this weekend.

LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - Law enforcement officers will also be patrolling the streets heavily this weekend during the highly anticipated prom season.

The program allows high school students to call for a safe ride home following the prom.

Students will be receiving business cards with the numbers to call, should they feel they are unable to drive safely that night.
