LAREDO, TX (LPD) - On Thursday, April 3rd, 2014, Laredo Police was dispatched to 1400 Guerrero St. on a burglary of a vehicle report.
Upon arrival, police met with a victim who stated that he had parked his pickup by the 1400 block of Guerrero St. since he was working in the area, installing gates a few houses down.
The victim stated that as he was walking towards his pickup, he noticed a male subject from a distance walking from his pickup carrying two black items in his hands and enter a green in color, unknown make or model car, that drove away towards Seymour Ave. heading southbound.
The victim checked on his pickup, noticing that the passenger side door had been opened to gain entry to the pickup. The suspect stole a black in color iPad valued at $500, a jam box bluetooth speaker valued at $325, along with the carrying case valued at $50. Later the same day, officers were dispatched to 200 Salinas Ave. The owner of the stolen property was able to use Apple software to track down and pinpoint the location of his stolen iPad to an electronic store downtown that had paid money for the stolen property.
The store owner had a waiver signed by the suspect saying that the property was his and was not a stolen item. The store owner cooperated with the investigation by releasing the surveillance video of two suspects who arrived earlier to sell the stolen tablet.
At one point, the main suspect is seen on surveillance video checking his ankle monitor as he awaits for payment for the stolen property. He received $100 for the stolen iPad and now police want to identify these two suspects.
If anyone knows these two suspects, they are asked to contact Laredo Police at 795-2800, Crime Stoppers at 727-tips, or text a crime tip to tip411(847411) keyword; laredo. All calls will remain anonymous.
