Man Arrested for Aggravated Robbery

LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - A Laredo man is arrested for aggravated robbery.

The incident happened yesterday. According to police, John Thomas Laurel was spotted trying to break into a small shed in the back of the Sonic located on 5500 McPherson Road.

A manager and employees confronted him, and he fled. Moments later, he was seen at the Shell gas station located on McPherson and Calton. There, he tried to rob the place showing the manager a gun that he had in his pants.

The manager refused and he left with no confrontation. Police received description of the vehicle that he was driving and also what he was wearing. They were able to spot him and arrest him with charges of aggravated robbery with a gun. John Laurel is the son of current Country Treasurer Delia Perales.
