Man accused of purse snatching and auto theft

LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - Laredo police are looking for a man accused of purse snatching and auto theft.

On February 1st at 2:09 am, LPD was dispatched to 201 E Del Mar Blvd for a theft of motor vehicle call. The female victim reported that she was at Cosmos in the patio area. At 1:45 A.M., she realized that her purse had been stolen from her table.

She went to check on her vehicle a 2011 Honda Accord and it too was stolen. The female victim stated that the last time she saw her vehicle was at 1:40 A.M. when she retrieved some items from it. The stolen purse was a black YSL brand valued at $1,000, her passport, $40 in US currency and her vehicle keys were in the purse.

On February 03, 2014 the stolen 2011 Honda was located abandoned at the 600 block of Rosario. It was located with damage to the car's exterior. Cosmos has a surveillance camera in the patio area where the complainant was sitting.

A male suspect can be seen on the footage seemingly on the cell phone. He chooses his opportunity then grabs the purse and goes back into the night club. After a few minutes the owner of the purse realizes her purse is no longer on at the table. While she and the occupants of the table are looking for the purse the male suspect exits the club and walks right past the table with the purse tucked under his arm and leaves the premises.
