UPDATE: Lockdown lifted at Martin High School

LISD Police received a tip, through Crimestoppers, about the possibility of a weapon on campus.

Martin High School went into lockdown Thursday afternoon.

LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - Martin High School and Christen Middle School were placed on lockdown, Thursday afternoon. The lockdown was ordered after the LISD received a Crimestoppers tip of a weapon, on the Martin campus.

LISD Police searched the campus for more than an hour. No weapon was found, and the lockdown was lifted.

The District says a student thought she overheard two other students talking about having a weapon on campus, and placed the Crimestoppers call. They say that was not the case.
