LAREDO, TEXAS (KGNS) -- Rio Bravo Mayor Manuel Vela, Jr. turned himself in at the Webb County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday.
We're told it was due to a pending warrant for many charges including Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, Money Laundering, and Promotion of Gambling, among others.
He issued a statement saying, "As Mayor of the City of Rio Bravo, I want to assure to the community that my commitment to keep the citizens protected continues to be my priority."
