A World War II veteran is almost getting ready to move into his new home.

John Edward Berry is a veteran of World War II who was living in an unfit home. That's when Operation Community Cares got together to improve his living situation. With the help of donors and community fundraisers, representatives tell us they're very close to completing Mr. Berry's new home. Jessica Palacios, Operation Community Cares Volunteer, says, "Right now we're about $5,000 away from our goal. So, we're still fundraising for those final approximately $5,000 or so. Coming up next, we're going to be having a raffle to help raise some of those funds. Then, we're still soliciting the community for donations."

If you would like to donate to help this project, you can make your contribution in Mr. Berry's name at the local Habitat for Humanity office. For more information, you can contact them through their Facebook page under "John Edward Berry Fund."
