LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - A local group recognizes individuals that aren't afraid to go that extra mile!
The Power of Partnership Program works to bring attention to Laredo's elite. The program's committee members nominate individuals who have not only made great accomplishments in their career field, but also possess good work ethic.
"We don't perform in a negative manner," said Power of Partnership Program co-chairperson Manuel Cerda. "We perform in a positive manner. And for us, to be associated with this kind of personnel and these kind of people, it's a big time blessing."
These individuals have volunteered their time for different community organizations such as the Laredo Kiwanis Club, the South Texas Food Bank, and the Imaginarium of South Texas.
"The community has been very good to all of us," said UISD superintendent and honoree Roberto J. Santos. "And I think that's one way to pay it back. And I think the more we're able to give of ourselves, help the youth and different organizations, I think our community's going to be much, much better."
The Power of Partnership Program is currently in its third year.
