LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - SCAN is a local organization that is determined to keep alcohol, drugs, and other substances out of the hands of minors.

A member of Serving Children and Adults in Need (SCAN) says she sees an increase in the use of heroin and synthetic marijuana. One of the reasons behind the rise in synthetic pot, she says is the difficulties tracing its use in drug tests.
