LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - Statistics show that more women are becoming interested in math and science.

Texas A&M International University is in the middle of a four-day workshop for students to learn about science, technology, engineering and math. A TAMIU educator says he's seen a gradual increase in the number of women in STEM programs over the years.

Tonight on KGNS News at Six, reporter Christian von Preysing talks to one graduate student today about what drives her interest in science.
