Sheriff’s office deputies seize more than $29,000 worth of heroin

LAREDO, TX (Webb County) – A Laredo man remained behind bars Monday morning on a $175,000 bond after Webb County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested him Sunday on possession of heroin charges.

Wenceslado Trevino, 30, of the 700 block of O'Kane Street, was arrested at his home and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance F/1(Heroin), Drug Free Zone. The arrest happened three blocks away from an elementary school.

The investigation started following an anonymous call to Crimestoppers indicating the residence was being used to store heroin. In total, 176.2 grams of heroin, with an estimated street value of $29,601, were seized.

Sheriff Martin Cuellar praised the caller for taking the time and interest in making Laredo streets a safer place to live.

Sheriff Cuellar reminds the community that all calls made to Laredo Crimestoppers are anonymous, and should a call lead to an arrest, the person may qualify for a compensation. Laredo Crimestoppers may be reached at 956-727-8477.
