LAREDO, TEXAS (KGNS) -- Kids in South Laredo line up to receive a generous donation of school supplies for the upcoming school year.
It was a large turn out of parents and kids at Peter Piper Pizza earlier as they receive free school supplies.
This is the fourth year of the back to school supply donations hosted by various local organizations like Laredo Buzz, Sheriff Martin Cuellar, Judge Velez, Councilman Alex Perez and Judge Notzon's office.
Books were donated by Finely elementary.
"A lot of people of the south side basically you know that when school starts you need to buy uniforms and school supplies that have a real need of things they need to buy," said City Councilman for District 3, Alex Perez. "What we are trying to do is just ease the transition and help the parents out and help the kids out we have a lot of people that showed up a lot of people are going to benefit from this."
Kids received items like spiral notebooks, crayons and other items that they might not be able to purchase for this upcoming school year.
