Stripes convenience store robbed in west Laredo

The suspect was seen demanding the employee to open the register, then pulling out a knife, grabbing the register off the counter, and smashing it on the floor.

LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - There has been an arrest involving the robbery of a Stripes convenience store in west Laredo.

Police asked the public for help in this one. They released surveillance video of the individual, who they believe is Lorenzo Cortez, III.

He was seen demanding the employee to open the register, then pulling out a knife, grabbing the register off the counter, and smashing it on the floor.

He only got away with about $15.00.

Cortez is now at Webb County Jail on charges of the suspect taking the cash tray holding about $15.00.
