The job market can be intimidating. That's why Workforce Solutions is helping those new to the job hunt and giving them some much needed help. A group of graduating seniors attended a job readiness class. They heard presentations on the importance of cover letters, resumes and other necessary skills to land a new job.
A career counselor advises job seekers to be as thorough as possible when filling out a job application.
"Do everything that the application asks you to do. Don't leave anything blank; fill out as much as you can. Also, if you're going to a regular retail store, usually the first ten seconds will create an impact with the employer. You never get a second chance for a first impression, and so go presentable."
Workforce Solutions will be holding a job expo next month on the June 12. That event will be open to the public at embassy suites from 1-4 p.m.
