A federal investigation underway is centering on a teen that was a student at the 9th grade campus of United High School.
We originally called the United Independent School District after receiving e-mails saying a student was detained with a gun in school. A United ISD spokesperson says that was absolutely not the case.
No gun was found, but they confirm the student was removed for remarks he made that were of concern to students and others on the campus.
We're told the Laredo Police Department was called in to help with the investigation, and shortly after, the case was turned over to the FBI.
The district says the student is no longer at the 9th grade campus. He's in federal custody, pending the outcome of the investigation.
