LAREDO, TEXAS (KGNS) -- It's a program that aims to help kids get the proper nutrition they need when school lets out during the summer.
The United ISD summer food program is set to start in a few days with the goal to ensure all Laredo kids get a proper nutrition.
They say that a lack of nutrition during the summer months may set a child for poor performance once school begins.
The free program begins June 9 at several locations and is free to all children, regardless of school meal eligibility during the school year from one to eighteen years of age.
No registration is needed for those attending.
