LAREDO, TEXAS (KGNS) - A soon-to-be graduate of Laredo's United South High School is leaving something special behind something future students will be able to enjoy.
Senior Victoria Marquez used to think about being an accountant or architect.
Now she knows she wants to be an artist.
She says that process of finding yourself is something she wants other students to understand.
It's a saying that stood out to senior Victoria Marquez.
One she wants future United South students to think about as well.
Victoria considers herself a United South panther, for life, and wanted the mascot to grace the school's halls for years to come.
Amando Chapa is Victoria's art teacher.
It took nearly three weeks to complete the mural, something she says she couldn't have done without Chapa's help.
This is Victoria's fifth mural.
With each one she says her work gets better and her choice to follow her passion becomes more clear.
Victoria will soon be headed to Austin where she'll attend the University of Texas.
Mr. Chapa says he's sad to see her go.
The advertising design class at United South is one of several business-themed courses offered in the school's magnet program.
