Vehicular chase leads Sheriff’s deputies to 53 pounds of marijuana

A vehicular chase in South Laredo by Webb County Sheriff’s deputies Wednesday evening led them to 53 pounds of marijuana.

The marijuana, found in three bundles, has an estimated street value of $26,500.

LAREDO, TEXAS (Webb County) - A vehicular chase in South Laredo by Webb County Sheriff’s deputies Wednesday evening led them to 53 pounds of marijuana.

The chase, initiated near the Rio Bravo-El Cenizo area, ended up with six subjects abandoning a 1999 Expedition and then jumping into the river to Mexico near the South Laredo rest area.

The marijuana, found in three bundles, has an estimated street value of $26,500.

While the investigation is ongoing, Sheriff Martin Cuellar reminds the community that if you know the whereabouts of these individuals, please call Laredo Crime Stoppers at 956-727-TIPS (8477). Any information leading to an arrest could result in a reward of up to $1,000.
