LAREDO, TEXAS (KGNS) -- The Webb County Heritage Foundation has opened up a new exhibit to celebrate an organization with roots of more than a century in Laredo.
A new display for the Sisters of Mercy shows artifacts, photos and information from 120 years of the group's presence here.
The sisters founded Mercy Hospital in 1894.
At an opening Thursday, the museum had up to 100 people come.
"It was a way of looking at their mission and what it is they had achieved in the community, their impact in the community, how much they have been able to help other people, and they were sharing some stories about when they were taking care of wounded people," said Eduardo Garcia.
The exhibit runs from now until the end of September.
After that, the artifacts on display will return to their owners.
