LAREDO, TX (KGNS)- The Webb County sheriff’s office introduced its newest member to the county community. Denzo is a five-year-old chocolate lab and comes to the sheriff’s office with quit a bit of experience. Before coming to Laredo, Denzo served in Iraq with the United States Army and helped save lives by detecting explosive devices. The sheriff's office said Denzo was donated to them, which helps save taxpayer money.
"This will benefit a lot, like I was saying earlier. The justice center, we used to get a lot of bomb threats. At one time, we had a fake grenade that was found."
With Denzo coming in, the sheriff's office will retire Aaron. Aaron is eight years old and served with the sheriff’s office for the past four years. The K-9 handler who worked with Aaron will now adopt him and keep him at his home.
