Webb County Sheriff’s Patrol Division seizes over 138 pounds of marijuana

LAREDO, TX (KGNS) - What would have been a regular traffic stop Monday evening by Webb County Sheriff’s Deputies resulted in the confiscation of more than 138 pounds of marijuana.

At approximately 9:00 pm, Sheriff’s Deputies patrolling the riverbank area near Anna and Gonzalez Street attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a grey Ford Mustang. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and fled the scene. The driver of the vehicle came to a stop after colliding with two vehicles on Callahan Street.

At the scene, two unidentified male subjects fled into the nearby area, leaving in the vehicle 2 bundles of marijuana. The marijuana has an estimated street value of $70,081.00. No arrests were made; investigations are still ongoing.
