Dengue fever on the rise in Nuevo Laredo

LAREDO, TEXAS (KGNS) -- In Nuevo Laredo cases of dengue fever have began popping up.

Nuevo Laredo's health department has confirmed six cases of the mosquito-borne virus, and they say there could possibly be more as they wait on lab results from other patients.

Some of the symptoms of dengue include fever, headaches, muscle and joint pain.

Health officials they are attributing these cases of dengue to recent rains causing water to accumulate in tires and creeks.
