CHARLOTTE, NC (WCNC) - An 11-year-old boy has died after witnesses say he jumped into a Charlotte, North Carolina creek to save his 7-year-old sister.
Paramedics pulled the two children from the creek Thursday night.
Paramedics performed CPR on both children and they were transported to the hospital. A spokesperson for Carolinas Medical Center confirmed Friday morning that fifth-grader Randez Brown died. Family members tell NBC Charlotte that Samiyah, the 7-year-old sister, is on life support at CMC.
An ambulance also took their grandmother to the hospital after she collapsed from the shock of what happened.
Family friends say the children's grandmother was watching the two kids at the time of the incident.
