VILONIA, AR (NBC) - At least 16 people are dead after severe weather packed with tornadoes ripped apart Arkansas and Oklahoma. Much of the damage is in Central Arkansas, including the town of Vilonia, where a devastating storm hit just three years ago.

Scott Barrier spends the night digging through the wreckage that was once his home. Barrier and his three kids got in their car and left when they got word a tornado was coming and when they returned, found destruction.

Down the street, the devastation continues. Homes ripped from the foundation, cars flipped upside, officials say at least 50 homes in this neighborhood off Naylor Road were wiped away.

Scott Barrier's home was damaged in 2011 when a tornado tore through the same area.

Three years later, Mother Nature came back and finished what she started.
