HOUSTON, TEXAS (KPRC) -- Two Ashford Elementary School students managed to run out a back door Monday afternoon and briefly escape from the campus.
Houston ISD says teachers never had their eyes off of the students, even though original reports were that the kids were missing. Investigators say the kids were laughing and thought the whole thing was a joke the entire time.
Eventually, the school principal was able to catch up to the two 6-year-olds and walk them back to the campus.
An automatic call went out to all parents notifying them about what had happened and saying that all kids were safe.
