Border Patrol agent buried in La Feria

The burial service of Javier Vega, Jr. began with the procession of police, Border Patrol and a horse-drawn carriage entering the ceremony.

At least 100 Border Patrol agents and other uniformed men stood by in honor of their fallen comrade.

LA FERIA, TEXAS (NBC) - The burial service for the Border Patrol agent killed on Sunday was held at a cemetery in La Feria.

On Thursday, the burial service of Javier Vega, Jr. began with the procession of police, Border Patrol and a horse-drawn carriage entering the cemetery.

Agents saluted the casket as the pallbearers carried Vega to his final resting place.

At least 100 Border Patrol agents and other uniformed men stood by in honor of their fallen comrade.

They were joined by many of his family and friends at the service.

The investigation and prosecution into his death which came while out on a family fishing trip continues.
