CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (KRIS) - The cost of living is going up in the coastal bend.

Higher housing prices and wage increases are both contributing to this trend, but one expert said that's a price he's happy to pay.

"If you have a choice, whether you want recession or you want a booming economy," said Dr. Jim Lee."Obviously, I would rather try and deal with the growing pains."

Lee said the coastal bend is experiencing the second wave of the Eagle Ford Shale Boom, which has already had a major impact on our area.

In March, the coastal bend hit its lowest unemployment rate since 2007.

Lee said all this economic growth isn't stopping anytime soon.
