LAREDO, TEXAS (District Attorney's Office) - The Office of District Attorney secured a guilty plea in its case against Jose Luis Garcia-Pacheco, 37, stemming from various sexual assault acts that occurred two years ago.
On March 12, 2013, the Laredo Police Department Communications Division received a call from a man who wanted to file a sexual assault report on behalf of his 14-year-old daughter, Sonia. He stated that Luis Garcia-Pacheco molested his daughter a year prior at her residence when she was 13 years old. The victim stated that on March 2012, Garcia-Pacheco entered her house and sexually assault her more than once. Sonia’s father believed Garcia-Pacheco left to Mexico two months later.
On May 10, 2013, Garcia-Pacheco was arrested after information was obtained that he was back in Laredo, Texas. He was charged with one count of aggravated sexual assault with a child, a second-degree felony.
Garcia-Pacheco agreed to a plea deal where he will serve 18 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division. He was sentenced this morning before the 406th District Court Judge Oscar J. Hale Jr.
