SAN ANTONIO, TX (WOAI) - A joint operation between several law enforcement agencies across the San Antonio-area have arrested six suspects they believe operated a robbery ring in order to pay for their drug habit.

San Antonio police announced the arrests of the five men and one woman Wednesday morning. Police say the suspects stole about $500,000 worth of property, including jewelry, cars, electronics and even a boat, to pay for their methamphetamine addiction.

The thefts happened at homes and businesses across San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country. Investigators say it was a drug deal witnessed by a San Antonio Police Department officer that led them to the robbery ring.

Police say more arrests in the case are coming. SAPD was joined by officers from the Hollywood Park Police Department, Kendall County Sheriff's Office, Comal County Sheriff's Office and others who participated in the investigation.
