WESLACO, TEXAS (KVEO) - Hidalgo County investigators arrested a man wanted in a homicide case dating back to September 2012.
Investigators arrested Ociel Alberto Castaneda, 23, and have charged him with murder after being on the run for nearly two years.
Castaneda is believed to be involved in a homicide that occurred on September 16, 2012 at a home on Kerps Street in rural Weslaco.
Witnesses reported that an argument between Castaneda and the victim, Cristian Gerardo Landa, ended with Landa being shot and killed by Castaneda.
The U.S. Marshal Service was able to locate Castaneda on August 7th in the Dallas County area where he was arrested and brought back to Hidalgo County.
Castaneda was charged with murder and handed a bond totaling $750,000.
