Madison High School adopts new backpack policy following gun threats

A North East ISD spokeswoman confirms Madison High School students will only be allowed to use clear and mesh backpacks beginning tomorrow until the end of the school year.

The notification was sent out to parents through a reverse phone call late Wednesday.

SAN ANTONIO, TX (WOAI) - A North East ISD spokeswoman confirms Madison High School students will only be allowed to use clear and mesh backpacks beginning tomorrow until the end of the school year.

The notification was sent out to parents through a reverse phone call late Wednesday.

On Wednesday, authorities arrested a Judson High School teen on a charge of terroristic threat. A warrant for her arrest stated the teen texted a Madison High School student a gun threat.

The text prompted the school to be on lockdown and no weapon was found. The threat was the second in a few days that prompted the lockdown of Madison High School.
