Man accused of body-slamming his mother

SAN BENTIO, TX (KVEO) - San Benito police arrested a man for assaulting his mother and causing her to bleed.

On Sunday, March 16th at around 1 a.m., police were called to the 400 block of Franklin Street in reference to a domestic disturbance.

When officers arrived a family member advised them that his brother, Fredric Martinez, 19, was inside the home and had assaulted his mother.

After officers entered the home, the mother, exited the bathroom holding her stomach saying she was in pain.

Martinez's mother stated that her son had body slammed her to the ground, kicked her leg and then slapped her on the face. She told officers she was recovering from surgery and the assault had opened the wound cause it to bleed.

Martinez was handcuffed and as he was being escorted to the police unit he pulled away, fell to the ground on his back and began kicking at officers striking one in the face.

Police used mace to subdue Martinez, transported him to jail and charged him with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, assault on a public servant and handed a $48,000 bond.
