Man arrested for theft of brisket packages inside diaper bag

HARLINGEN, TEXAS (KVEO) - Harlingen police arrested a Raymondville man who was caught stealing three brisket packages hidden in a diaper bag.

On Thursday, August 28 at around 7:30 pm, Harlingen police were dispatched to the HEB store located at 1213 South Commerce Street in reference to a theft.

The Loss Prevention officer stated that he observed a man, later identified as Michael Angelo Lopez, 30, conceal three packages of beef brisket, a total value of over $110, inside a diaper bag then exited the store without paying for the items.

Lopez was detained, arrested, charged with theft and given a bond totaling $1,500 dollars.
