SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (WOAI) - A bizarre scene on the northeast side, as police said a man without most of his clothes caused two crashes on I-35 on Sunday afternoon.

Police reported that the man later died of his injuries at San Antonio Military Medical Center.

It started on the other side of I-35 and Eisenhauer - on the southbound lanes, when police said the suspect was being treated inside an ambulance.

One woman said she didn't see the accident or the man, but heard it all. Just before 1 pm., someone called police and told them someone was passed out in their car at 35/Eisenhauer.

"So on arrival, EMS found this person in some state of undress in the vehicle," SAPD Sgt. Javier Salazar said. "It's a male, believed to be in his early 40s."

The man was put inside an ambulance.

"For whatever reason, the male became agitated during the treatment and became combative with EMS, officers were on scene at the time," Salazar said.

Police said the man go back into his jeep, drove off, dragged the gurney he was on, hit a truck and stalled on the other side of the intersection.

"He got out of the vehicle, my understanding is he....was... mostly undressed... nude for the most part," Salazar said.

Officers said they tried to reason with him.

"He continued to fight with officers, officers did deploy a Taser, the suspect did go down at that point and get him into custody," Salazar said.

Margaux Hinton was driving with her five-year-old son behind the truck.

"We were just leaving Church trying to get to my parents for lunch," she said. "I heard tires screeching and then the impact of the truck."

Hinton said the naked man also hit someone riding a bicycle.

"We were in the right lane trying to go across the tracks and he got hit, I swerved on to the cube and the man on the bicycle flew into the wall," she said.

"He was in front of the pick up truck but debris got on the spokes of his wheels."

The man on the bike got up and walked away before police could ask him what he saw. Police said they don't know what made the man do all of this.
