SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (WOAI) - A 48-year-old man was killed when he ended up pinned under his truck after hitting the back of an 18-wheeler on Highway 90 Tuesday morning.
The accident happened around 8:40 a.m. Tuesday on Highway 90 West near Cagnon Road.
An officer at the scene said pickup truck pulling a load of watermelons was headed west on Highway 90 behind an 18-wheeler, when the driver of the 18-wheeler started to make a wide turn into a gravel driveway.
The driver of the pickup truck swerved to try to avoid hitting the big rig, but clipped the back of it. The driver of the pickup then lost control, and the pickup flipped over.
The driver of the pickup, who is believed to be from Atascosa County, was ejected and became pinned under it. He died from his injuries.
No charges are expected to be filed against the driver of the 18-wheeler driver.
