SAN ANTONIO, TX (WOAI) - A tourist who deputies say peed on the Alamo will now serve 18 months in prison.
Daniel Athens was visiting San Antonio from El Paso, two years ago in April of 2012. He was arrested when an Alamo Ranger said he saw Athens relieving himself on the Alamo.
He also has to pay $4,000 in restitution, which is how much it cost to thoroughly clean the urine off the limestone. He entered a plea bargain back in February on a charge of criminal mischief of a public monument or place of human burial.
