Police say the woman told them the argument became so heated, she felt she had no other choice but to open fire on the man.

The girlfriend told police both she and her boyfriend had guns during the argument.

SAN ANTONIO, TX (WOAI) - A man was shot in the groin after an argument with his girlfriend.

The fight broke out shortly before 10p.m. on Mission Road near Roosevelt Street. The girlfriend told police both she and her boyfriend had guns during the argument.

Police say the woman told them the argument became so heated, she felt she had no other choice but to open fire on the man. The 53-year-old victim was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center where he is now recovering.

Police spent most of the night questioning the woman, who is in her 30s. But at last check, no charges had been filed.
