Police arrived at the Del Valley home at 15623 Fagerquist Road on March 29 around 1 a.m. and detained Russell without incident.

DEL VALLE, TX (KXAN) - A man is accused of taping steak knives to his hands and threatening family members after he believed they stole a winning lottery ticket from him, according to an arrest affidavit.

Shawn Chadley Russell, 37, taped the knives so that the blades were protruding from between his fingers, similar to “Wolverine,” a character from X-Men, the warrant said.

Russell thought the others were conspiring against him and started waving the knives in his sister’s face, saying he was going to “get her” if she didn’t give back the winning ticket, the document said.

Police arrived at the Del Valley home at 15623 Fagerquist Road on March 29 around 1 a.m. and detained Russell without incident. He was not holding any knives at the time, the affidavit said.

He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony, and bond was set at $15,000.
