CORPUS CHRISTI, TX (KRIS) - Police are looking for the shooter in Corpus Christi's latest homicide. The victim was killed early Sunday morning.
Elida Barbosa was inside her townhome off Corban Street when she heard gunshots, just after midnight Sunday. She opened her front door to find her friend taking his last few breaths.
Police haven't said who the man is. But Barbosa says his name is Hector Marin. Marin was shot in the chest, he was later pronounced dead at the hospital, according to Police. Barbosa says she wrapped him in her arms until medics took him away.
Barbosa said, "He was bleeding to death...went into shock...died right here in my arms."
Several people living at the Corban Townhomes heard the sirens and came out to see what was going on. The thought that someone was shot and killed so close to home has many residents on edge.
While Barbosa copes with the loss of her friend, she also says she worries for her safety. Police are still interviewing witnesses and following leads but as of now, no one has been charged for the fatal shooting.
