Motorcyclist survives fall from overpass onto IH-35

A motorcyclist who fell more than 20 feet off an overpass will survive.

AUSTIN, TX (KXAN) - A motorcyclist who fell more than 20 feet off an overpass in south Austin will survive.

According to Austin police, the motorcyclist went over the Onion Creek Parkway overpass and landed on South IH-35 around 12:30 p.m. He apparently struck the guard rail which sent him flying over the overpass.

While he suffers from some extensive injuries, he was conscious when paramedics arrived and police said he is expected to survive.

The rider was wearing a helmet.
