ROUND ROCK, TX (KCEN) - A police officer at a Texas high school used a controversial method to break up a fight: a stun gun.
It happened Monday at Stony Point High School in Round Rock.
Police say a fight broke out in the cafeteria between two students. Several other students also joined in.
The officer told the students to break it up and most of them listened, but two of the students kept fighting.
That's when police say the officer used his stun gun, hitting one of the teens in the stomach. Some parents say the officer did the right thing, while some parents said they felt the officer went too far.
The teen wasn't hurt.
The police department says the officer was alone when the fight broke out and had no other choice but to use his stun gun on the student.
