TEMPLE, TX (KCEN) - Children having to stay at McLane Children's Hospital were visited by a life size robot on Wednesday.

KiBot the Robot serves as Kibow Biotech's Goodwill Ambassador, a company dedicated to maintaining healthy kidney function. The remotely operated robot is known for cracking jokes, dancing with the ladies, and of course bringing smiles to the children's faces.

The 13-year-old was visiting the new children's clinic when she caught sight of the towering robot. "He's really different. He's nice, funny, sweet and just wants to be everybody's friend," she said.

Despite being sick, KiBot was able to turn her day around while chatting with her and then ending her day with a quick dance. "It was pretty great; just really awesome," she said.

KiBot travels the world, has been on TV shows, movies, and even been to the White House. Besides brighten children's hospital stays, he also travels the nation to give motivational presentations to students on science and technology.
