SAN ANTONIO, TX (WOAI) - It was a close call for two firefighters Sunday after part of a porch's roof collapsed on them while they tired battling a house fire.
It happened around 2:30 p.m. Sunday on Janet Gale near Highway 281, in far South Bexar County. Fire officials say the firefighters refused treatment.
A neighbor who saw the fire came out of her home and tried to fight the flames herself using a water hose. Thankfully, an elderly man inside made it out safely. Two cats were also rescued. No word yet on what started the fire.
