Perhaps it was scoping out a spot for the first day of classes?

The gator guy, or gal, was hanging out in the shade right near the front door of Beck Junior High - minding its own business - when deputies got the call.

KATY, TEXAS (NBC) - Sheriff's deputies wrestle with a trespassing suspect at a school near Houston.

Perhaps it was scoping out a spot for the first day of classes?

The gator guy, or gal, was hanging out in the shade right near the front door of Beck Junior High - minding its own business - when deputies got the call.

And the heave-ho tug of war got underway.

Teachers are inside preparing for the start of school, but no students are on campus.

Classes start August 25.
